How can we help?
FLXPAD is a sampler, looper, and live FX rig for iPad. Four tracks, 36 FX pedals, a built-in kick, and a touchpad that records your moves.
Quick answers
- Getting started. Four demo tracks are loaded the first time you open FLXPAD. Tap play on any track, tap a pedal to put it on the touchpad, switch it on, and drag.
- Recording. Tap REC MIC above the waveform. FLXPAD asks for microphone permission the first time. When a USB mic or audio interface is plugged in, the arrow next to REC MIC picks the input. Recordings stay on your iPad unless you export and share them.
- Loading sounds. Tap LOAD and pick an m4a, wav, aiff, or mp3 from Files, then choose which track it lands on.
- Looping. Drag the A and B handles on the waveform. The region repeats until you stop it. To stop after a set number of passes, pick a count in the LOOP menu and tap SET, even while it plays. CLEAR goes back to forever.
- Kick. Tap KICK in the header to open the kick panel, then switch it ON. Tap TAP TEMPO in time to set the tempo: it stays silent and restarts the beat from your tap, so the kick lines up with your loop.
- FX moves. Tap a pedal, switch it on, hit REC MOVES, and drag the XY touchpad. The move replays in time with your loop and is drawn on the waveform.
- Saving. The FLXPAD menu saves projects with all audio and settings. Find, rename, and reload them in the PROJECTS tab.
- Exporting. Rec Out captures your performance as WAV, with per-track stems for your DAW.
- Requirements. Any iPad that runs iPadOS 17 or later: iPad (6th generation) and newer, iPad mini (5th generation) and newer, iPad Air (3rd generation) and newer, and every iPad Pro except the first 12.9-inch and the 9.7-inch models.
